FAQS
Answer the most frequently asked questions
These are the questions we hear most often before a first call. Answering them here means we spend the 30 minutes talking about your business instead of covering the basics.
We already have a bookkeeper. Can you work alongside them?
Yes. We can supplement an existing bookkeeper, take over specific functions they are not covering, or handle the analytical and reporting layer that sits on top of the day-to-day work. We are not here to replace people who are doing a good job. We are here to fill the gaps and add the layer of insight that most bookkeepers are not set up to provide.
We use QuickBooks. Will that be a problem?
Not at all. We work in QuickBooks, as well as most other accounting platforms your business might already be running. We also integrate with point-of-sale systems like Toast and Square, property management systems like Opera and Cloudbeds, and booking platforms like FareHarbor and Rezdy. If you are not sure whether your software is on the list, just ask us on the call.
Our books are a mess. Is that going to be an issue?
It is more common than you think and it is exactly the kind of situation we are set up to handle. We do financial cleanups and catch-up bookkeeping as part of our onboarding process. We have seen books in all kinds of states and we know how to get them sorted out without making you feel bad about it. The sooner you start, the sooner the problem is behind you.
How quickly can you get started?
For most clients we can begin the onboarding process within one to two weeks of signing an agreement. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of your setup and what we need to get access to. We will give you a realistic start date after the initial call once we know what we are working with.
What does it cost?
It depends on the scope of what you need. Bookkeeping-only engagements are priced differently from a full bookkeeping plus analytics package, and fractional CFO work is scoped separately. We do not publish a rate card because every client’s situation is different and we do not want to quote a number that turns out to be wrong. What we will do is give you a clear, written proposal within a few days of your first call with no surprises in it.
We are not based in Hawaii or New York. Can you still help us?
Yes. We work with clients across the US. Our Hawaii and New York offices are where our team is based but the bookkeeping, reporting, and analytics work we do is not location-dependent. We handle everything remotely and are comfortable working across time zones. If you are outside the continental US, just mention it on the call and we will confirm whether there are any timezone or coordination considerations to plan around.
